• Algebra 1 CA STAR Review

    

  This is a short demo of how the CA Standardized tests can be converted to an online format to provide a review prior to STAR testing, or to help seed an online course.  Please encourage your students to enroll and work through the problems, and provide feedback through the surveys referenced at the end of the course.

  Teachers are also encouraged to look through the course and provide feedback.  All material related to this project will be made available as collaborative coursework.

• Algebra1 Collaborative Social Forum

  This site has been set up for Algebra1 instructors to collaborate on curriculum development within a Moodle framework. Participating instructors will be provided a personal Moodle site where they can experiment with Moodle design and configuration, and will be given teacher access to a collaborative reference site that all Algebra 1 teachers can work on together to design a reference Algebra1 course.
  
  The basic requirements for this site is that all content created will be made available under the creative commons licensing model for download as moodle backup/restore files so that other teachers can adapt, modify, and contribute back if they so choose.
  
  This first course will be used for discussing curriculum and Moodle design. All participants are expected to enroll in this "course".

  Each Participating instructor will be provided a sandbox moodle class to work with, to allow them to share ideas and materials.
  
  My (Bob's) course is being designed to directly align with the California Star 9 Algebra 1 release questions. The goal for each topic will be to identify a standard, put it into context for the student, provide a brief introduction to the material, some activities to reinforce the concepts, and plenty of quizzes to provide assessment and feedback to the student. A goal to this approach is to be able to use the class for independent remediation, or test preparation.

  This course outlines Moodle's features by providing examples of activities and resources.
• Algebra1 Resources

    

  This list of resources and examples is being compiled to help teachers who wish to take full advantage of moodle and the internet when creating math curriculum for Algebra1.  Please feel free to look around.

  For full access, please register for an account.  This will give you a sandbox area where you can experiment, and provide an additional collaborative environment for your support.

   The ultimate goal of this project is to collaborate on math curriculum that can be used directly in the moodle framework.
